We were asked by the Managing Partner of a small legal practice that specialised in financial services and regulatory law to help them find a merger partner. The firm consisted of two partners and three other FE's. However, they were struggling to recruit, given their size and the increasing rise of PII was becoming a real concern.
After discussing their business objectives and growth plans over the next five years it was apparent that the only way this could be achieved was through a merger. We were retained by the firm to help them become a full-service law firm for their clients.
After several months, advanced talks began with a large regional practice, eventually heads of terms were signed and the firm absorbed our clients practice, staff and insurance costs.
